We are Vex team 20850W, Accelerated Dragon. This season, we're taking on a greater challenge by moving up to participate in the high school competition.
We are proud of our community service aspect, which we demonstrate by teaching kids robotics skills, such as coding and CAD at summer camps, as well as volunteering at local events.
In the 2025-2026 season, we won two trophies at two signature events. And at the Maryland state championships, we received Robot Skills 2nd Place and Tournament Finalists that qualified us to the World Championships.
Our achievements:
On 03/15/2026, our team competed in the 2026 Maryland VEX V5 Robotics Competition State Championship (High School).
Qualification Matches:
In the Qualification Matches, we finished 4th out of 50 teams.
Skills Challenge:
2nd place, achieving our highest scores of the season in both Autonomous and Driver Skills.
Awards:
We won the Tournament Finalists with team 1727R Rex, and qualified for Worlds!.
On 02/21/2025, our team competed in the AOE Robotics Summit in Clarksburg, Maryland. This is the first competition of our version 2 robot.
Qualification Matches:
In the Qualification Matches, we finished 4th out of 50 teams, winning all of our matches.
Skills Challenge:
1st place, achieving our highest scores of the season in both Autonomous and Driver Skills.
Awards:
We won the Tournament Champions with team 1727X Rex, and the Robot Skills Champion.
On 02/07/2026, our team participated in 1x Robotics Presents: Meta Broken at PWC Fairgrounds in Manassas, Virginia.
This is the final competition for our version 1 robot.
Qualification Matches:
In the Qualification Matches, we finished 3rd out of 59 teams.
Skills Challenge:
And in the Skills Challenge, we placed 8th overall and achieved our highest Driver Skills scores of the season.
Awards:
We won the Tournament Champions with team 2145V Pink Swirlee Unicorns. This marks our first tournament championship of the season.
On 12/31/2025 - 01/01/2026, our team participated in the Carolina Countdown - A New Year’s Signature Event in Greenville, South Carolina.
The event featured 79 highly competitive teams from across the region.
Qualification Matches:
In the Qualification Matches, we finished 8th out of 79 teams.
Skills Challenge:
And in the Skills Challenge, we placed 14th overall and achieved our highest Autonomous and Driver Skills scores of the season.
Awards:
Most notably, our team was honored with the Amaze Award, recognizing our robot’s performance, innovation, and overall team presentation.
On 11/14/2025 - 11/15/2025, our team participated in the LAUNCH at EATON Signature Event in Beachwood, Ohio.
This was our first high-school Signature Event, featuring a total of 54 competitive teams from across the region.
Qualification Matches:
We finished 11th out of 54 teams in the qualification matches — a strong performance given the depth and intensity of the competition.
Skills Challenge:
We also placed 11th in the Skills Challenge and achieved our highest scores of the season in both Autonomous and Driver Skills.
Awards:
Most proudly, our team earned the Inspire Award. The referees, judges, and emcees were especially impressed by our innovative descore mechanism.
On 11/08/2025, our team competed in the AOE Robotics Challenge in Clarksburg, Maryland. The event featured 40 teams from across the region and provided an exciting showcase of robotics skills and teamwork.

2nd place overall, winning all of our matches.
Skills Challenge:
5th place, achieving our highest scores of the season in both Autonomous and Driver Skills.
Awards:
We were honored with the Excellence Award. Our team has advanced to the State Competition, continuing our journey to showcase our skills on a larger stage.
On 10/04/2025, our team competed in the Meta in the Making event held at the Prince William County Fairgrounds, Virginia. This is our first competition of the season.
Qualification Matches:
5th out of 19 teams.
Awards:
We won the Create Award and the Sportsmanship Award. This marked a historic moment for our club — it's the first-ever Sportsmanship Award in our club's history.
In the 2024-2025 season, we were part of team 23382A. At the 2025 World Championships, we received the Design Award in our division.
In the whole season, we won the tournament champion twice at two signature events that qualified us to the World Championships. And we were triple-crowned at the Maryland state championships.
